Elberta Sue Grisham

Elberta Carver Grisham passed away April 4, 2024 at home surrounded by her family. Elberta was born June 2, 1947 to Lee Oliver and Ida Henderson Carver. Elberta was the 10th child of Lee and Ida. During her career, she was employed with Corinth Machinery, Moore and Gray Accounting, and Patrick Home Center. She was retired from Alcorn Central High School where she served as a bookkeeper for many years. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jerry Grisham. They spent many years planning and traveling all over the United States. They were fortunate to have visited 49 states and took their children and grandchildren on many adventures. She was a member of Foote Street Church of Christ. Elberta is survived by her children Katriena and Mike Burgess , Jerri Denise Grisham, and Robert Grisham and Richard Gilbert. She is also survived by her grandchildren. Sonja Grisham and Chelsea Grisham, Richard Grisham, Hillary and Brandon Lovorn, Konnor Knopf, and Dalton Knopf as well as six great grandchildren. Surviving siblings include: John Carver and wife Barbara of Macomb, Michigan, Dixie Wood, Amos Carver and wife Carole all of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Laura Christine and husband Ray of Morrow, Georgia, Gene Carver of Rogers, Arkansas, and Oliver Carver and wife Fonda of Dewitt, Arkansas. Surviving sister in laws are Jean Carver of Ethel, Arkansas, and Vicky Carver of Hope Mills, North Carolina and one brother in law, Mac Grisham. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. She is proceeded in death by brothers Tommy Carver, Bobby Carver, Henry Carver, J.D. Carver, and Millard Carver; one sister Nellie Black; brother in laws Delbert Black and Delano Wood and sister in laws Alta Carver, Judy Carver, Joy Carver, and Betty Carver. A celebration of life will be held June 2, 2024. Donations in her honor may be made to the Foote Street Church of Christ Building Fund or Sharing Hearts Adult Dementia Day Care.
