Mr. Homer Gerald Wooten, 73, went to be with his Lord and Savior at Magnolia Regional Health Center on Wednesday February 05, 2025. Gerald will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Gerald was born at home in Theo, Mississippi, on January 14, 1952, to Vester and Mary Lee Wooten. He had an adventurous spirit, a kind heart, and a humerous personality. His humble beginnings helped him appreciate all that mattered in life. Gerald and his brother, Junior, enjoyed spending time at their Maw and Paw Matlock’s home, where important values were instilled. Paw was responsible for encouraging Gerald’s love of building, electrical, and plumbing, which paved the way for his future.
Gerald attended Gift High School and later Kossuth High School. He found joy in being outside, riding horses, fishing, and fixing up old cars. As a young adult, Gerald began working construction in Memphis, TN. He was always proud of the bridges and businesses he helped to build. After 25 years, he retired, and moved to Walnut, MS., where he spent time with his family and friends, enjoyed his pets, and repaired lawnmowers and trucks. He attended Pochahontas Baptist church.
Gerald was a friend to all who knew him. He helped others in need and remained faithful to what God had in store. He was a hard worker, master craftsman, and an avid outdoorsman. His quick wit always made life better, but his generous devotion to others was inspiring.
Those left to cherish his memory are Brother; Junior Wooten, and Niece; Whitney of Walnut MS. He also has many cousins and friends Alcorn and Tippah counties. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, sister-in-law: Pam Wooten and a host of Aunts and Uncles.
The Wooten family would like to sincerely thank the doctors and nurses of Magnolia Regional Hospital for their wonderful care, devotion, and support.
Services will be Sunday February 09, 2025 at 2:00PM at Corinthian Funeral Home Chapel with Bro Steve McKee officiating. Visitation will take place from 1:00PM until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Shiloh Baptist Cemetery.
The Corinthian Funeral Home is honored to serve the Wooten family.
