Elizabeth Henderson 83, better known as “Penny”, gained her heavenly wings Wednesday September 03, 2025 at Cornerstone Health and Rehab surrounded by her loved ones.
Services will be 3:00 pm Sunday September 07, 2025, at Corinthian Funeral Home. Interment will be in Valley of the Dogwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be Saturday September 06, 2025 from 4:00- 7:00 pm and from Noon until service time on Sunday at Corinthian Funeral Home.
Penny was born in New York City, New York on July 7, 1942 to Albert and Ida Mary Hoffman Simons. She was the oldest of 12 children. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends drinking coffee, watching TV, and working on her crafting with plastic canvas. She worked at Chadco for many years until they closed and at Liberty Cab answering the phones.
She is preceded in death by her parents, son: Michael Henderson, the fathers of her 6 children: Dan Sloan and Cleo Henderson, sisters: Marilyn Hygema and Charlotte Suggs, brothers: William Simons, Robert Simons and Alan Simons.
Those left to cherish her memory are daughters: Donna Lyons (Delbert) of Pontotoc, MS, Bonnie Glisson of Walnut, MS, Melody Patterson (Tony) of Corinth, MS, sons: Danny Sloan of Walnut, MS, Lenny Sloan (Dana) of Alabama, sisters: Eunice Kay Chesser and Debbie Harrison of Columbus, MS, brothers: Arnold Simons, Dennis Simons, Jerry Simons, all of Columbus, MS. grandchildren: Britni Cannon, Chad Wilson, Triston Sloan, Landon Henderson, Logan Henderson, Lannah Henderson, Harley Lyons, Katlynn George, 3 great grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
