Funeral services for Mrs. Bonnie Lou Strickland, 91, will be 5pm Tuesday September 12, 2023, at the Corinthian Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Philip Hathcock officiating. Interment will be in the Corinth National Cemetery.
Visitation will be 3pm till service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
She passed from this life at Dogwood Plantation on Friday September 8, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Strickland was born in Alcorn County, Mississippi on November 30, 1931, to the late William and Minnie Barnes Smith. She was a retired sales clerk for J.C. Penney’s Corporation and a member of Foote Street Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Herman “Pete” Strickland, her parents, her siblings: Flossie Wilson, Jewell Mullins, Mary McFall, Grace Jones, Artie Butler, Joan Hindmon, Jack Smith, and Simon Smith.
Those to carry on her memory include: her children: Wayne Strickland wife Angie of Corinth and Greta Spencer husband Rick of Barlett, Tenn., her grandchildren: Craig Strickland wife Abby, Juliana Shumaker husband Jon, Christopher Spencer wife Catherine, and Leigh Gilland husband Daniel, her great grandchildren: Brooks Strickland, Camden Shumaker, Carter Shumaker, Colby Galuska, Lylah Gilland, Aubrey Gilland, Gunner Gilland, and Jordan Leigh Strickland, and a host of nieces and nephews and friends.
