Ms. Susan Janette Price departed life at 64 years of age at Magnolia Regional Health Center on Sunday, June 28, 2026. She was born on September 22, 1961 to parents Robert Grady and Mary Ellen Norcross. She was a 1979 graduate of McNairy Central High School and later graduated from School of Cosmetology in Savannah, TN.
Susan spent her life caring for so many. She shared her heart with the warmth and kindness we all hope to give and receive. As the baby of six, she quickly became a caregiver to her parents and siblings, regardless of what that entailed.
To so many she was most lovingly known as “Ms. Susan” from her time at Kiddie Kollege Kindergarten and Daycare in Corinth, Mississippi. She spent over 30 years of her life teaching and caring for her preschool students, positively impacting hundreds. Kiddie Kollege was a special place, and she was a large part of why it felt that way. Her time there held an important place in her heart.
Of all she did in her life, being Momma to her sons Steven and Cody and Susu to her 3 grandkids is what made her most proud and what made her so special. She loved nothing more than spending time with her family and reminiscing about the love and stories of those she missed. Susan taught so many how to love unconditionally and wholeheartedly, while also instilling those qualities into her family. Her loving example will continue on in those she cared for and loved, reminding us all to BE KIND.
She was preceded in death by her parents Robert Grady and Mary Ellen Norcross Price; brothers Larry Wayne Price, Robert Steven Price and William Ray Price; sisters Jean Carter and Dorothy Lee Miliam; life partner Rufus Butler and son Cody Butler.
Those left to cherish her memory include son: Steven Price (Lani); Grandchildren: Jackson, Odie, and Lawson Price; and a host of extended family and friends.
Services will be Friday, July 3, 2026 at 3:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Michie, TN with Bro. Ben Martin officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00-3:00pm. Burial will be at New Hope Cemetery in Michie, TN.
